Community

The Crescents Pilots are very active and generous in the five parishes they live and work in.  In addition to their individual involvement and giving to the community, they also contribute through the larger organization, the Louisiana River Pilots’ Association.  The LRPA has been extremely generous in their efforts to give back to the community, especially in response to the devastation wrought by the recent series of hurricanes.  The association donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund.  This contribution helped provide aid to victims of hurricanes Bonnie, Charley, Frances and Ivan.  This financial assistance helped the American Red Cross to mobilize a massive relief effort that included providing emergency food, water and shelter to hundreds of thousands of people impacted by the storm.
