Fee Commission

During the 2004 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature, a statewide fee commission – The Pilotage Fee Commission – was created to go into effect January 1, 2005. The new commission consists of four pilot representatives – one from each of the pilot associations, four industry representatives, and three independent at-large members.

The fee commission is charged with setting fair and reasonable fees for the pilots. They are empowered to hold hearings, create rules, and verify documentation and financial records.
